Dr Leigh Williams

Primary qualifications: MEng, MBBS, MRCGP, DRCOG

Leigh was born and brought up in South Wales. He graduated from Oxford University in 1991 with a masters degree in Engineering Science and then spent an year travelling. He worked in the offshore oil and gas industry in the North Sea and the Gulf of Mexico before moving to the steel industry as an electrical engineer for Allied Steel and Wire in Cardiff. In 1999 he moved to this part of the world to write software for Vodafone, but soon after decided to change career entirely and started medical school at St. George’s in London as a mature student. He graduated in 2004 and worked as a junior doctor in several departments at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, including A&E, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology and paediatrics. He spent a year as GP registrar at Tilehurst Surgery Reading before joining the Falkland Surgery in 2009. He is married with three young daughters.
